Traditions and Values
Working and learning as a family and carrying on the work of previous generations tends to give a long-term perspective and a sense of being part of something greater than yourself. In the New Hampshire construction business, that translates into an emphasis on quality workmanship and a motivation to treat people right, whether they are customers, employees, vendors or just people we meet along the way.
Mark learned the trade the old-fashioned way by working as an apprentice for his father and grandfather. Despite his decades of experience in the business, he continues to actively learn as new technologies and methods emerge.
Today, Mark's children are involved in the family business.
Mark J. Gordon Construction is veteran owned.
Mark served honorably in the Army for 12 years, performing well in jobs such as building bridges, recruiting, and training new soldiers as a drill sergeant. Though he was already trained and experienced in the building trade, his years in the military strengthened his skills in a number of areas, including applied engineering and leadership.
Following his discharge, he was Department Captain in the VFW Honor Guard. This photo was taken by his son in Fenway Park during the singing of the National Anthem before a Red Sox game. Mark is on the left, holding the American flag.
